The sustainable Christmas Tree option
At Green Farm we have been hiring Christmas Trees for over 5 years so could be considered one of the pioneers in this area. The concept is fairly straight forward, you book in a tree and a delivery date, put the tree up in your house, give it a drop of water every few days and a few weeks later we will collect and look after the tree for the rest of the year, simple!
Our Story
If you want the perfect Christmas Tree you can't beat a cut tree for the perfect shape and colour but sometimes there is that nagging feeling that it just seems a bit of a waste. The rental Christmas Trees are grown in pots from small saplings specifically for use as rental trees. Once big enough they are rented out and returned and nurtured through the year with the right amount of water and organic fertilisers and pruned to keep the right shape. After a few years they are planted out into the field and allowed to do their natural thing.

Potted trees are living things and as such take just a little looking after. Please do not cut any part of the tree as this affects the growing of the tree in spring. Also, a small amount of water, approximately a pint every few days, helps to keep the tree from drying out. The advantage of the tree being living rather than being cut is it will shed virtually no needles, so mess is kept to a minimum.

You are welcome to come and choose your tree a month or two before Christmas: we do like to restrict the length of time trees are taken indoors into warm centrally heated homes as this process does play havoc with the life cycle of the tree. We have a 25 day hire period but are flexible with dates. Some prefer their tree up early and down before New Year, others don't put their tree up until a week before the big day, so it's up to you.
Prices depend on size and variety but as a general rule of thumb 6-7' is £40, 5-6' - £30, 4-5' - £20
Delivery is £5 within 5 miles of Green Farm (Buxton, Chapel en le Frith, Whaley Bridge) and £10 up to 10 miles(Bakewell, Disley, Hathersage, Hayfield), please enquire for further afield.
