At Green Farm we have over 5 acres of Christmas trees grown for the cut market. We are excited to offer you a wide selection of fresh, high-quality Christmas trees to choose from. Here at Green Farm half of our plantation is dedicated to the classic Nordmann Fir which has become the staple Christmas Tree. The other half is a wide and wonderful selection of trees originating from all over the world, all grown here from seed and nurtured with our passion for trees.

Being a small independent grower we give the customer more choice and benefits over the larger stores. Our trees are cut fresh compared to those of large suppliers that can be cut several weeks before finding their way to your home.

Our Trees

Nordman Fir - Abies Nordmanniana

The Nordman Fir has in recent years become the go to tree for UK households. With its deep green colour, needle retention properties and symmetrical appearance it is an all round staple Christmas tree. This tree makes up just over half of the plantation.

Provenance - Caucasus mountains of SE Europe

Fraser Fir - Abies Fraseri

Characterised by their symmetrically arranged branches and soft, dark green needles with silvery undersides, Fraser Fir Christmas trees exhibit a classic conical shape with a stiff upright habit, making them ideal for festive ornaments and lights. The needles are typically 1/2 to 1 inch long and emit a pleasant fragrance when crushed, being a fir tree it has excellent needle retention.

Colorado Blue Spruce - Picea Pungens

The Colorado Blue Spruce is a popular and iconic choice for Christmas trees, The needles of the Colorado Blue Spruce are typically sharp and stiff, measuring about 1 to 1.5 inches in length. They have a distinct silvery-blue to blue-green colour, giving the tree its unique and attractive appearance.
They have a classic conical shape with strong, evenly spaced branches. The branches are sturdy, making them ideal for holding ornaments

Serbian Spruce - Picea Omorika

It is a popular choice for Christmas trees due to its elegant and slender form, as well as its attractive blue-green needles. What sets the Serbian Spruce apart is its distinctive needle arrangement. The needles are short, sharp, and arranged spirally along the branches. The overall appearance of the tree is dense, creating a lush and full-bodied appearance that makes it appealing as a festive centrepiece during the holiday season.

Korean Fir - Abies Koreana

The Korean fir is a species of evergreen tree that has gained popularity as a Christmas tree due to its unique and attractive features. Native to South Korea, these trees are valued for their compact size, dense foliage, and striking appearance. Known for their beautiful, dark green needles that are soft to the touch and almost white underside. The needles are arranged spirally around the branches, giving the tree a full and symmetrical shape.

Giant Fir - Abies Grandis

The Grand Fir is valued for its attractive appearance and aromatic fragrance. These trees can reach impressive heights of up to 300 feet (91 meters) in their natural habitat.

Grand Fir Christmas trees are characterised by their symmetrical shape and dense foliage. The needles are glossy green on the upper side and have two white bands on the underside with a more flat profile giving it a distinctive appearance.

White Spruce - Picea glauca

A popular evergreen conifer known for its classic Christmas tree shape and lovely fragrance. These trees are widely used as Christmas trees due to their attractive appearance, conical shape, and dense branches. The needles are short, stiff and have a distinctive silvery green appearance that sets it apart from other spruce trees.

Balsam Fir - Abies balsamea

The Balsam Fir is closely related to the Fraser Fir sharing many of the same features. One of the standout features of Balsam fir Christmas trees is their delightful fragrance. The needles emit a pleasant scent, often described as fresh, citrusy, and mildly balsamic. This aroma adds to the festive atmosphere. The Balsam Fir regularly gets chosen as the Christmas tree to adorn the White House in the USA.

Noble Fir - Abies procera

Renowned for their majestic appearance and exceptional needle retention. Noble firs are known for their striking symmetry and robust branches, which gracefully curve downward, giving the tree a full and lush appearance. The needles are also bluish-green in colour with a silvery sheen, adding to the tree's overall visual appeal. Possibly one of the finest specimens for a Christmas tree, but also one of the hardest to grow!

Provenance - Area of the world the original species of tree comes from

Abies - Latin terminology to describe a true Fir tree, the variety that is generally softer to touch and the non needle drop variety, slower growing and as a general rule a more premium product.

Picea - Latin terminology to describe a spruce tree, a variety with a slightly sharper feel of needles and a shorter needle retention. A faster growing variety and therefore towards the cheaper end of the scale.
